If you are visiting Ghent, here is a recommendation for a worthwhile visit.<\/p>\n

AROUND CHAMBRE D'AMIS\u00a0 -\u00a0 GHENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1986, \u2018Chambre d\u2019Amis\u2019 in Ghent was a unique event that attracted a great deal of interest. Art was on display in a number of private homes.<\/p>\n

The SMAK is currently looking back on this event in a documentary exhibition.<\/p>\n

Works are on display in various museum galleries; these now form part of the SMAK\u2019s permanent collection, and are by three artists: Heike Pallanca, Haim Steinbach and Susanne Kriemann.<\/p>\n

The centrepiece of the exhibition is \u2018Le D\u00e9cor et son Double\u2019 by Dani\u00ebl Buren.<\/p>\n

Dani\u00ebl Buren (1938) is a leading conceptual and abstract minimalist artist.<\/p>\n

In his works, Dani\u00ebl Buren is primarily concerned with \u2018integration into the environment\u2019.<\/p>\n

The \u2018stripe motif\u2019 is his trademark.<\/p>\n
