Jawlensky was at the origin of the artists' group 'Der Blaue Reiter' and was above all an expressionist of colour.
La Piscine is worth a visit in itself with its Art Deco pool, sculptures and art cabinets.
IMAGINATION OF THE UNIVERSE
Two unique exhibitions in Leuven: 'Imagining the universe' in Museum M-Leuven and the subsequent exhibition 'Beyond the Big Bang' in the University Library - until 16 January 2022.
The exhibitions are part of KNAL! City Festival of the Big Bang in Leuven: a tribute to the priest-professor Georges Lemaître (1894-1966), the founder of the Big Bang theory.
The exhibition 'Imagination of the universe' combines science and art. Throughout the centuries, people in different cultures have 'wondered' about the cosmos. Top works of art, including statues and tapestries, show this 'wonder' to the visitor.
The Museum M is open daily from 11 am to 6 pm; on Thursdays from 11 am to 10 pm; closed on Wednesdays.
Be sure to check the mandatory reservation during this special period.
