OLYMPISCHE RINGEN (HUGO VAN DER WILT)
At the Sports Hall 'De Klavers' the symbol of the Olympic idea is really in its proper place. The artist has shaped it into a large three-dimensional sculpture. The rings, made of stainless steel, are loosely stacked on top of each other and appear to be floating. In a world where many countries are getting more and more withdrawn, the Olympic message is more indispensable than ever: only by working together, across all borders, can we tackle the challenges of the future.
VAN DER WILT Hugo
Hugo graduated from the Patroonschool in Mechelen in the specialty of mold construction. He also followed a course in welding. Later on in his art works, he could also put his knowledge and experience in cold cutting, bending and welding to good use.
