AI WEI WEI in Brussels and at the Emile Verhaeren Museum in Sint-Amands
Ai Wei Wei (b. 1957, Beijing) is a Chinese conceptual artist and philosopher. He also works as an architect, photographer and filmmaker.
Like his father, Ai Qing, he is critical of the Chinese regime. The exhibition ‘LIFE, REVOLT, POETRY’ pays tribute to his father, the poet who introduced Emile Verhaeren to the Chinese public.
Emile Verhaeren Museum – Sint-Amands, from 20 September to 13 December 2026 (Tuesday to Sunday – 11.00 to 18.00).
At the same time, the Patrick Derom Gallery in Brussels is hosting an exhibition of Wei Wei’s work: ‘THE ART OF DEFIANCE’.
