THE WASE WASTE MONSTER (SVEN DEGRIJSE)
This iron rust-brown creature is an initiative of three teachers from SBSO Baken with the cooperation of pupils from fifteen schools. With its eight trunks, the monster shows itself to be a real gulp. It is designed to a giant basket for litter and roadside waste. Volunteers and youth organizations organize periodic clean-up actions in the context of a clean green municipality. The sculpture contributes to raising awareness of sustainable environmental management.
SVEN DEGRIJSE
Sven Degrijse is the initiator and coordinator of the art project 'Het Wase Afvalmonster' at De Klavers in Belsele.
The sculpture was made in collaboration with students from fifteen technical schools.
Not only were artistic and technical skills developed, but the environmental issues were also brought to the attention of the young people.
