GEROLF VAN DE PERRE: 'RILKES CIRKEL'
The Emile Verhaeren Museum presents an exhibition of work by Gerolf Van de Perre.
Van de Perre (° Sint-Amandsberg - 1965), painter and author, is fascinated by the oeuvre of the German writer, Rainer Maria Rilke, and his circle. Rilke was secretary to Rodin and friends with Emile Verhaeren, Romain Rolland and Stefan Zweig, among others.
Gerolf Van de Perre brings these characters to life in the exhibition. Moreover, he familiarizes himself with their world of thought.
In the book 'Rilkes Cirkel', Van de Perre brings images, text fragments and reflections.
Gerolf Van de Perre already has an entire artistic career and a series of exhibitions behind him. A stay of several years in China was reflected in 'Graphic Novels'. Literature remains an important source of inspiration for Van de Perre, including in his 'Le grand Meaulnes revisited'.
