INTO THE EYES – SINT-BAAFSHUIS – GHENT
As a child, artist Johan Tahon (1965) was already moved by the ‘Adoration of the Mystic Lamb’ in St. Bavo's Cathedral. The connection with this unique work of art has never left him.
Throughout his life, he has experienced a mystical thread that continues to inspire him: in contact with works of art; when viewing early Christian art in Turkey; in his studio in Rozebeke. He also met Pope Francis.
In his work, Johan Tahon seeks to express spirituality, connectedness, and the healing power of art. He works in plaster, stone, and bronze.
The exhibition marking his 60th birthday begins in St. Bavo's Cathedral with a sculpture focusing on the Lamb of God. It continues in the St. Bavo House and garden.
