Visit-Jeruzalemkerk in Brugge-eng

Dear Art Lover,

If you are visiting Bruges, here is a recommendation for a worthwhile visit.

A piece of heritage comes to light: JERUZALEMKERK BRUGES

After six centuries, the private chapel of the Adornes family in the Jerusalem Church in Bruges can once again be admired.

It is located in the non-touristy quarter of Bruges, home to the Gezellehuis and St. Anne's Church.

This burial church was built by the patrician Adornes family from Genoa as a family burial chapel and consecrated in 1429. It is a replica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

The family was already present in Flanders in the second half of the 13th century.

The chapel is still owned by the descendants, now the Limburg Stirum family.

They recently opened the private chapel with paintings to the public after restoration.
