MAGRITTE, master of surrealism: “LA LIGNE DE VIE”
In 1938, René Magritte gave a remarkable lecture at the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp as a testimony to his own art:
how he saw and approached reality and how he wanted to shape his vision of reality.
He also spoke about the surrealist movement, which was manifesting itself in Brussels and Antwerp at the time.
This lecture by Magritte forms the starting point for the exhibition: “Magritte, La ligne de vie”.
The presence of the work of the artist Marthe Donas in the KMSKA offers the opportunity to compare these two figures of modernism.
