Dear Art Lover,
If you are visiting Mariemont, here is a recommendation for a worthwhile visit.
MARY OF HUNGARY at the Mariemont Museum
Until 10 May 2026, the Mariemont Museum (near La Louvière) is presenting an interesting and enlightening exhibition on the person of Mary of Hungary.
As the sister of Charles V, she played an important role in Europe in various fields: politics, diplomacy and culture.
The exhibition highlights Mary of Hungary with its own collection and numerous pieces from Belgian and foreign institutions. It sheds light on the personality of Mary of Hungary and on the Renaissance of the 16th century: with documents, paintings and sculptures. The exhibition also boasts a tapestry purchased by the Friends of the Museum.
The Museum's permanent collection is also well worth a visit. It originates from the collection of the industrialist Raoul Waroqué and offers a remarkable insight into different cultures and periods.
