RIK WOUTERS and NEL in Mechelen
The magnificent Hof van Busleyden in Mechelen is more than worth a visit in its own right.
The Renaissance palace houses a valuable permanent collection that provides an insight into prominent figures and artists of that period.
Now Hof van Busleyden is launching a new project: a focus exhibition entitled “Rik Wouters and Nel, muse and manager”.
The aim of a focus exhibition is to highlight an artist or a theme in a limited, intimate space, allowing the viewer to become deeply involved.
This exhibition focuses on the relationship between Nel, the wife of Rik Wouters, and the artist (1882-1916). “Nel between pink curtains” is the artistic representation of their bond.
