BERLINDE DE BRUYCKERE IN ST. BAVO'S CATHEDRAL
Since 9 November 2025, the sculpture “Archangelo II” by Ghent artist Berlinde De Bruyckere has been given a permanent place in the choir of St. Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent.
The sculpture was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice.
The artist illustrates a beloved theme: suffering and love. She wants to express “connection” with the sculpture.
The angel, between heaven and earth, signifies presence for people who need help. It is an ode to people who are angels.
