Dear Art Lover,
If you are going to Ghent, here is a tip for a visit that is worthwhile.
Have you met a Carolingian princess yet?
Her name is Judith and you can visit her at St. Peter's Abbey in Ghent until Jan. 19, 2025 from Tuesday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
During the construction of the underground parking lot in St. Peter's Square in Ghent, a tomb was found among several graves that continued to demand separate attention.
Archaeologists, historians and bio-anthropologists bent over grave S 127 in particular.
Is it Judith, daughter of Charlemagne and first countess of Flanders?
